Distracted Fathers

Scott Weinberg asked Twitter to “name a movie in which a distracted father learns to pay more attention to his family through a magical lesson of some sort.” He got some good responses: Liar Liar, The Santa Clause, and Hook to name a few.

Is it possible to write a good movie with that trope? Sure. But knowing that it’s a trope is important to consider, so if possible you can zig when the audience expects you to zag.
